As the debate about health care reform continues on a national level, Oregon has already started working on reform efforts at the state level. Many of these reforms were part of House Bill 2009 and 2116, passed in 2009.
No matter what may end up happening at the federal level, Oregon is poised to make significant inroads in reforming the health care delivery system, improving quality, and containing health care costs increases. The state has already taken some notable first steps.
